Anela Barboza

Leadership & Transformation Coach, Change Nerd, Somatics Practitioner

Anela Barboza Seliskar (she/her/ʻoia/they) is a Somatic, Transformation, and Leadership Coach and Mentor Coach. She is deeply committed to creating a safe and fiercely loving container for BIPOC, mixed race, and intersectional folx exploring questions of identity, culture, race, sites of oppression and shaping, longing, place/home, and resiliency work as a means of personal transformation and healing.

Anela’s perspective and approach to coaching has been shaped by her living experience as a diasporic kanaka maoli, born and raised away from her home, culture, and family, assimilated into mainstream white culture. Significantly impacted by white supremacy and cultural isolation, her personal transformation included Somatics as a means to heal the current, ancestral, and community bodies for the sake of entering and blending with what is and what can be. In 2022, she faced her deepest longing and fears to move from Minnesota back home to Hawaiʻi.

She lives and coaches full-time on the Big Island of Hawaiʻi in the sunbelt of Keaau, Puna with her two dogs, Cooper and Zhabdrung.
